For Kids
Make magnets that look like Scrabble game pieces so you can spell out words to hold things in your locker.
“Scrabble” Locker Magnets
You’ll need:
- Forster “Woodsies” (1-inch squares)
- clear acrylic spray
- ¾-inch fuzzy iron-on letters (Dritz brand works well)
- iron (with adult help)
- stick-on magnet strips or pieces
- scissors
Directions:
- Choose the number of woodsie squares you’ll need to make the letters and words you’d like. Spray top of each woodsie with acrylic spray.
- With adult help, fasten a fuzzy letter to each woodsie using a hot iron and press cloth. (Tip: Place letter on woodsie, touch iron to letter to tack it in place, then cover with press cloth and press for 10 seconds.) Let cool.
- Attach a piece of magnet to the back side of each square.
To use: Line up the letters to spell words to hold your pictures. Try these ideas—FRIENDS, CLASS OF 2007, CUTE, BEST BUDDIES, FAITH, HOPE, etc.
